From Cherry to Cerisette

Patience is a virtue

From the day the cherry tree falls, we start a six-month artisanal process before you taste the Cerisette in your mouth. Feel free to compare our efforts with the delicate production process of a red wine full of character or a savory Parmigiano Reggiano.

We are the only one who uses an authentic, completely natural recipe given by our grandparents that provides the most intense experience for all your senses with the result:.
A pure and surprising sweetness.

Step 1

the cherry

Kriek is a natural product and the raw material of this delicacy. Finding the right grower and cherry variety is our highest priority. We visit and compare each orchard until we find the “right” cherry that suits us.

Step 2

The distillate

At harvest time, we immediately submerge the cherries in our homemade distillate. The distillate is made to a top secret recipe of our grandparents. They are now resting in it for a few months. This is the basis for the intense taste experience of the Chocinis' Cerisette.

Step 3

The icing

Has the cherry rested enough? We remove the cherry from the liqueur and wrap it with a layer of fondant sugar. This sugar layer provides the fresh sweet hue of the Cerisette.

Step 4

The real cherry stem

We love nature! Unfortunately, the stem falls off the cherry during the harvest. What is unique about Chocinis' Cerisette is that we put the cherry stem back where it belongs: At the kriek!

Step 5

The chocolate

The last step! High-quality Belgian chocolate is brought to optimum temperature. This ensures the beautiful shine of the Cerisette later on. We dip the sugared cherry with the stem in the chocolate.

Step 6

The real Cerisette

After chocolateing, we let the kriek rest again for a few weeks. After all, the cherry needs time to absorb the sugar. Inside the core, enrobed in chocolate, our natural cherry liqueur forms.

Step 7

The surprising pleasure

Now the shiny Cerisette is perfect!
